Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults who have had a stroke (also called a CVA or cerebrovascular accident)
  • People who do not have any other neurological conditions
  • People who are able to lie face-down for approximately one and a half hours
  • People who are able to walk without shoes for the walking part of the study (only applies to those doing the walking component) — the use of a walking stick or similar aid is permitted

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have other neurological or bone/joint conditions that could affect the study measurements, such as Parkinson's disease, nerve damage in the lower limbs, or severe ankle arthritis that limits movement
  • People who have had surgery on the lower leg affected by the stroke, such as ankle joint fusion surgery
  • People with significant cognitive (thinking or understanding) difficulties that would prevent them from understanding and participating in the study — this is assessed using a tool called the AbilityQ
