Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older at the time of joining the trial
- People who have been diagnosed with plaque psoriasis of a certain severity and coverage across the body (confirm with trial site for specific measurements)
- People with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher, meaning they are classified as overweight or obese
- People with or without type 2 diabetes
- People with type 2 diabetes whose diabetes medication has not changed in the past 3 months, and whose blood sugar levels are reasonably well controlled (confirm with trial site for specific levels)
- People who have not used systemic (whole-body) psoriasis medications — such as methotrexate or cyclosporine — for at least 8 weeks before joining
- People who have not used biologic therapies for at least 3 months before joining
Who may not be able to join:
- People diagnosed with a type of psoriasis other than plaque psoriasis, such as pustular, guttate, nail, inverse, erythrodermic psoriasis, or psoriatic arthritis
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding at the time of screening or enrolment
- People who use insulin to manage diabetes, or who currently take a type of diabetes medication called sulfonylureas
- People who have an active cancer diagnosis at the time of screening
- People with a history of thyroid tumours or growths
- People who have an autoimmune disease
- People who have used systemic (whole-body) psoriasis treatments within the past 8 weeks
- People who have used biologic therapies within the past 3 months
- People with reduced kidney function
- People with heart failure
- People with reduced liver function
- People with a history of pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
- People currently being treated with medications known as GLP-1 receptor agonists
- People with a history of inflammatory bowel disease
- People with a known allergy to starch
