Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 50 and 75 years old (any gender)
- Your body weight falls within a healthy-to-moderately-overweight range (BMI between 18 and 35)
- You have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, including having had recurring knee pain in the past month plus at least two of the following: X-ray changes in the knee joint, being aged 50 or older, morning stiffness lasting 30 minutes or less, or a clicking/grating sensation when moving your knee
- Your knee osteoarthritis has been graded as mild to moderate (Grade I to III) on a knee X-ray taken within the last 6 months
- You have a moderate level of knee pain when walking on flat ground or climbing stairs, based on a standard pain scoring tool
- If you are already taking glucosamine or diacerein supplements, you are willing to keep the dose the same throughout the entire trial
- You have stopped taking all pain-relief medications for more than 2 weeks before joining, and agree not to take other pain relievers during the study (except for a specified rescue medication if needed)
- You are willing to take part fully in the trial and able to sign a consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- You have another condition causing knee pain, such as autoimmune arthritis, gout, joint infection, or a knee tumour
- You have pain elsewhere in your body that is worse than your knee pain, which could make it hard to assess the knee accurately
- Your knee joint has severely narrowed or the bones have fused together
- Your leg pain is caused by a back problem, such as a slipped disc or spinal narrowing
- You currently have a widespread or severe local infection
- You have significant abnormal results on infectious disease screening tests (confirm with trial site)
- You have had knee surgery, a serious knee injury in the past year, or a knee injection, radiotherapy, or keyhole surgery within the past 6 months
- You have had steroid injections into the knee, or have taken steroids or immune-suppressing drugs continuously for 2 or more weeks within the past 6 months
- You have taken Chinese herbal medicines or traditional Chinese medicine products for knee pain within the past month
- You have had physical therapies or applied topical treatments to your knee (such as acupuncture, cupping, heat patches, or plasters) within the past week
- You have a serious condition affecting your heart, brain, liver, kidneys, blood, hormones, or immune system
- You have or have had a malignant (cancerous) tumour
- You are planning to have elective knee surgery during the study period
- You have significant fluid build-up in the knee joint or severe swelling/circulation problems in your legs
- You need to take blood-thinning medications (with the exception of a stable low daily dose of aspirin up to 100 mg and/or clopidogrel)
- You have a condition affecting your consciousness or mental health that would prevent you from completing self-assessment questionnaires
- You have a history of drug abuse or heavy alcohol use
- You have a known allergy to any ingredients in the study product or comparison product, or a history of allergic reactions to protein-based drugs or foods
- You are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a positive pregnancy test, plan to become pregnant soon, or are unable to use reliable contraception during the study
- You have taken part in another clinical trial of a drug, biological product, or medical device within the past 3 months
- The trial team considers there to be any other reason you would not be suitable for this trial (confirm with trial site)

Change in the WOMAC Pain Score of the target knee joint at 24 weeks (14 weeks after the last injection) compared with the baseline.; Changes in the levels of inflammatory factors IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α in the synovial fluid of the target knee joint during treatment and at 14 weeks post-treatment compared with the baseline.
