Who might be able to join this trial:
For people with schizophrenia or a related condition:
- You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, or a similar condition (but not a psychotic disorder caused only by substance use)
- You are between 40 and 70 years old at the time of joining the study
- You took part in a previous research study when you were between 20 and 55 years old, and that study happened at least 5 years ago
- You are able to understand the spoken language used in the country where the study is taking place well enough to follow the test instructions
- You have been mentally stable recently — meaning no hospital stays in the past 3 months and no changes to your medication in the past 4 weeks
For siblings of people with schizophrenia:
- You do not have a diagnosis of a serious mental health condition known to affect social functioning (such as severe mood disorder, schizoaffective personality disorder, or autism spectrum disorder)
- You are between 40 and 70 years old at the time of joining the study
- You took part in a previous research study when you were between 20 and 55 years old, and that study happened at least 5 years ago
- You are able to understand the spoken language used in the country where the study is taking place well enough to follow the test instructions
- You have been stable recently — meaning no hospital stays in the past 3 months and no changes to your medication in the past 4 weeks
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a history of a serious head injury where you were unconscious for more than 1 hour, had lasting effects on thinking or memory, or received cognitive rehabilitation treatment after the injury
- You have a history of an IQ below 70 or a developmental disability (based on medical records)
