Who might be able to join this trial:

For people with knee osteoarthritis (OA):

  • People between 40 and 70 years old who have been diagnosed with moderate knee osteoarthritis confirmed by X-ray (specifically graded as KL Grade 2 or 3)
  • People who are able to walk on their own, even if a walking aid such as a cane or walker is used

For people joining as healthy comparison participants:

Who may not be able to join:

  • People with high blood pressure that is not well managed, or other heart or blood vessel conditions
  • People with a muscle or joint condition that would prevent them from completing physical tests
  • People with muscle weakness caused by a neurological condition, such as a stroke or spinal cord injury
  • People with a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) above 34.9
  • People who have been hospitalised in the past three months
