Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 45 and 75 years old
- Both men and women are welcome to participate
- People who have had a stroke less than 6 months ago (known as a subacute stroke)
- People whose stroke severity has been rated above 6 on a standard medical stroke assessment scale (confirm with trial site)
- People with only mild muscle stiffness in the affected arm, as measured by a standard clinical scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who score 24 or above on a standard memory and thinking assessment test (confirm with trial site)
- People who are able to sit up, with or without support
- People who have no joint tightening or stiffness in the affected shoulder, elbow, wrist, or fingers
- People with no history of nerve damage in the arms or legs, or bone and joint conditions
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other medical conditions or health problems that would make participation unsafe or unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
- People with severe difficulties carrying out planned movements (severe apraxia) or significant problems with bodily sensation
- People who have difficulty paying attention to one side of their body or surroundings (unilateral neglect)
- People who have severe joint tightening or stiffness in the affected shoulder, elbow, wrist, or fingers
- People who have significant difficulty understanding language or communicating overall (global or receptive aphasia)
