Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Men aged 25 to 59 years who have a common pattern of hair loss (male-pattern baldness) that falls within a certain range of severity, and who are being seen at the Dermatology Outpatient Clinic of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital.
  • Women aged 25 to 59 years who have a common pattern of hair loss (female-pattern hair loss) that falls within a certain range of severity, and who are being seen at the same clinic.
  • Women who are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Patients who stopped taking anti-androgen medication or minoxidil (a common hair loss treatment) at least 1 month before the procedure.
  • Patients who have no known allergies to the biological treatment substances used in this trial or to any materials used to prepare platelet-rich plasma (a treatment made from your own blood).
  • Patients who can speak and read Indonesian and are willing to sign a consent form agreeing to take part.

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who cannot speak or understand Indonesian, or who are not willing to sign a written consent form.
  • People whose hair loss is caused by something other than common pattern baldness.
  • Patients who are currently taking a type of medication called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (used to treat hair loss or other conditions).
  • Patients who have had steroid injections into their scalp within the last 6 months.
  • Patients who currently have an active infection or active skin inflammation on the scalp.
  • Patients with a known allergy to the biological treatment substances or materials used to prepare the platelet-rich plasma treatment.
  • People with a history of raised/thickened scar tissue (hypertrophic scarring) or blood clotting disorders.
  • Patients who are unlikely to be able to complete all parts of the study.
