Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with asthma that is well controlled
- People aged between 18 and 80 years old
- People of any sex or gender
- People who currently live below 800 metres in altitude and have not spent more than 24 hours at an altitude above 2,500 metres in the past three weeks
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People younger than 18 or older than 80 years of age
- People who have been diagnosed with any other heart or lung condition, including a past history of high-altitude pulmonary oedema (a serious fluid-on-the-lungs condition caused by altitude)
- People with other serious ongoing health conditions, such as significant kidney or liver problems
- People who may have difficulty following the study procedures due to language barriers, psychological conditions, neurological conditions, or physical conditions affecting movement
- People who permanently live above 800 metres in altitude, or who have spent more than 24 hours above 2,500 metres in the past three weeks
- People who are currently pregnant (participants will be asked, but no formal pregnancy testing will be done to detect unknown pregnancies)
- People who are currently breastfeeding
- People who are already taking part in another clinical trial that involves an active treatment
