Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 50 and 80 years
- People who have been diagnosed with primary knee osteoarthritis (wear-and-tear arthritis of the knee, not caused by another condition)
- People who are already scheduled to have a first-time total knee replacement as a planned procedure

Who may not be able to join:

- People who have been taking corticosteroid (steroid) medications long-term on a regular basis
- People with diabetes that is not well controlled
- People with known hormone or gland conditions that affect how the body manages blood sugar levels
- People who currently have an active infection anywhere in the body
- People who are known to be allergic or sensitive to corticosteroid (steroid) medications
- People with severe liver, kidney, or heart disease
- People with neurological or physical conditions that affect the way they walk or their sense of balance
- People who are unwilling or unable to follow the study procedures as required
