Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 50 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with schizophrenia according to standard medical guidelines (DSM-5), confirmed through a structured clinical interview
- People whose schizophrenia was diagnosed no more than 8 years ago
- People who are currently taking 1 or 2 antipsychotic medications, with the dose having been stable for at least 1 week before joining the trial (certain other medications, such as mood stabilisers, antidepressants, or higher doses of some sedatives, are not permitted)
- People whose antipsychotic medication type stays the same during the trial, with any dose changes kept within 25%
- People who have difficulty with day-to-day activities and functioning

- People who are willing to take part and have signed a written consent form
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have other mental health conditions, intellectual disability, significant mood symptoms, or problems with substance use (other than caffeine or tobacco)
- People who are experiencing clear movement-related side effects caused by their medication (known as drug-induced extrapyramidal reactions)
- People with a history of epileptic seizures, meningitis, or encephalitis (brain inflammation or infection)
- People for whom brain stimulation through the scalp (transcranial electrical stimulation) would not be medically safe
- People with a history of brain tumours or brain surgery
- People who have had a severe head injury in the past
- People who have received any other electrical or magnetic brain therapy within the month before joining the trial
