Who might be able to join this trial:
Group 1 – People with Methamphetamine Use Disorder (MUD):
- People who have been formally diagnosed with Methamphetamine Use Disorder based on recognised diagnostic standards (DSM-5-TR)
- People who have not taken any medications for at least one month before entering the study
- People aged 18 to 64 years old
- People who have agreed to take part by signing an informed consent form
Group 2 – People with Methamphetamine-Induced Psychotic Disorder (MP):
- People who have been formally diagnosed with Methamphetamine-Induced Psychotic Disorder based on recognised diagnostic standards (DSM-5-TR)
- People who have not taken any medications for at least one month before entering the study
- People aged 18 to 64 years old
- People who have agreed to take part by signing an informed consent form
Group 3 – Healthy Volunteers (Control Group):
- People who do not have any psychiatric diagnosis
- People who do not have any immune system or body-wide (systemic) illness
- People who have not taken any medications for at least one month before entering the study
- People aged 18 to 64 years old
- People who have agreed to take part by signing an informed consent form
Who may not be able to join:
The following apply to all three groups:
- People with high blood pressure (hypertension)
- People with diabetes
- People with chronic kidney disease
- People with rheumatoid arthritis
- People with systemic lupus erythematosus (an immune system condition affecting multiple parts of the body)
- People with any heart condition
- People with serious neurological disorders (conditions affecting the brain or nervous system)
- People with immune system disorders or other body-wide illnesses
- People with a primary mental health condition other than the one being studied in their group (confirm with trial site)
- People with alcohol use disorder (Groups 1 and 2), or any alcohol, drug, or substance use (Group 3)
