Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who were born male (based on chromosomal composition at birth) and are 18 years of age or older
- People who have been diagnosed with prostate adenocarcinoma (a specific type of prostate cancer), confirmed through laboratory testing of tissue or cell samples
- People who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer that has spread to other parts of the body and still responds to hormone-reducing treatment (known as metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer)
- People whose treating doctor has decided to start them on a medication called apalutamide (along with hormone-reducing therapy) before joining the study, in line with the medication's approved guidelines
- People who are able to understand the patient information sheet and have given verbal agreement for their data to be collected, and have not objected to this
- People who have had a PSA (prostate-specific antigen) blood test recorded before their first dose of apalutamide
- People who agree to fill in questionnaires about their medication-taking habits and quality of life throughout the study, including before their first dose of apalutamide
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already received or are currently receiving apalutamide, or certain other hormone-blocking cancer medications (such as abiraterone acetate, darolutamide, or enzalutamide), or chemotherapy for this stage of prostate cancer
- People who have taken part in another clinical trial involving an experimental drug, vaccine, or medical device within the 90 days before the study start
- People who are currently receiving active prostate cancer treatment as part of another interventional clinical trial
- People who have been on hormone-reducing therapy for their metastatic prostate cancer for more than 4 months before starting apalutamide
- People whose cancer stopped responding to hormone-reducing therapy (became castration-resistant) before starting apalutamide
- People who are beneficiaries of State Medical Aid (AME) (confirm with trial site)
- People who do not speak or read French
- People who are under legal guardianship or curatorship
- People who are under judicial protection
