Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with, or are suspected to have, a condition called pulmonary arterial hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs), and who have been medically recommended to have a procedure that checks blood pressure inside the heart (called a right heart catheterization).
- People who are being assessed at the Pulmonology (lung specialist) Service at InCor-HCFMUSP.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are pregnant.
- People who have certain structural problems with their heart, such as holes between heart chambers (atrial or ventricular septal defects) or problems with heart valves.
- People who have irregular heart rhythms (cardiac arrhythmias).
- People who have a pacemaker or any other electronic device implanted in their body.
- People who have skin injuries or wounds on their chest area that would prevent a special sensor belt from being placed around the torso.
- People whose heart condition is classified as the most severe level of disability (WHO/NYHA Functional Class IV) (confirm with trial site).
- People who are unable to hold their breath voluntarily for at least 30 seconds, or who are unable to understand and follow the study instructions.
- People who do not wish to take part, or whose attending medical team advises against participation, as indicated by not signing the consent form.
