Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had their first-ever stroke
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with an ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel)
- People who are between 1 and 6 months post-stroke
- People whose stroke has resulted in only mild disability, based on a standard medical assessment scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who have scored 24 or higher on a standard memory and thinking test called the Mini-Mental State Examination
- People who have a moderate to good level of movement in the lower limbs, based on a standard stroke recovery scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who are able to walk at least with the help of a walking aid or similar assistive device
- People who have only mild or no muscle stiffness in the legs, based on a standard assessment scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who can sit upright without support for at least 30 seconds
- People who have enough voluntary leg movement to take part in exercise activities
- People who are able to communicate
- People who are willing to take part and have provided written consent
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have difficulty perceiving one side of their surroundings due to their stroke (a condition called hemispatial neglect)
- People who have had more than one stroke
- People who have a diagnosed psychiatric condition
- People who have joint, bone, neurological, or heart and lung conditions that a doctor determines would make the planned exercises unsafe
