Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease, confirmed by your doctor based on your symptoms, scans, a camera examination of your gut, and/or tissue samples (a full tissue sample is not always required if it is not safe or practical to obtain one)
- Your Crohn's disease is currently active, as assessed by your treating doctor
- You are willing to use exclusive enteral nutrition (a liquid-only diet given through a tube or by drinking special formula) as your only treatment to bring the disease under control
- Your doctor has determined that you are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition, and that this liquid diet treatment is medically appropriate for you
- You have complications such as a fistula (an abnormal channel in the gut), a narrowing in the gut, or an abscess (a pocket of infection) in the abdomen — and your doctor thinks the liquid diet approach is a suitable way to manage these
- You are willing and able to give written consent and attend all study check-ups over 12 weeks
Who may not be able to join:
- You have a condition that makes tube or liquid feeding unsafe, such as a hole in the gut, uncontrolled gut bleeding, or severe circulatory collapse (shock)
- You need emergency surgery right away at the time of starting the trial
- You are unable or unwilling to use the liquid-only diet as your sole treatment at the start of the trial
- You have any other health condition that your doctor believes would make taking part unsafe or would interfere with the study (confirm with trial site)
