Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had a stroke at least six months ago and have ongoing weakness or paralysis on one side of the body
- People whose stroke was either caused by a blocked blood vessel (ischemic) or a bleed in the brain (hemorrhagic)
- People who are able to sit up on their own without support
- People who score 24 or above on a standard memory and thinking assessment called the SMMSE
- People who are able to walk 10 metres on their own, even if walking aids or leg braces are needed
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had surgery on their spine or legs within the past month
- People who have an unstable heart or cardiovascular condition
- People who have other neurological or muscle and joint conditions that cause significant balance problems, such as conditions affecting the basal ganglia or cerebellum
- People who have a current fracture or dislocation in the spine or legs
