Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women aged 18 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed with early-stage invasive breast cancer or a non-invasive form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ, including cases where the cancer appears in multiple spots in the breast
- People whose treatment plan includes a type of surgery that removes the breast while preserving the nipple, with an implant placed at the same time
- People with small- to moderate-sized breasts with little to no drooping
- People who have given written agreement to participate in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose cancer has visibly affected the skin, the nipple area, nearby lymph nodes, or has been classified as inflammatory breast cancer, Paget's disease, a type of tumour affecting breast tissue structure, or a returning breast cancer
- People who have had previous surgery on the same breast being treated
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the chest area
- People who smoke more than 20 cigarettes per day, have poorly controlled diabetes, or have a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) above 30
- People whose overall health risk for surgery has been rated at a certain level or higher by an anaesthetic assessment scale (confirm with trial site)
- People who are currently pregnant
