Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with early-stage invasive breast cancer or a non-invasive form of breast cancer called ductal carcinoma in situ, including cases where the cancer appears in multiple spots in the breast

  • People who have had previous surgery on the same breast being treated
  • People who have previously had radiation therapy to the chest area
  • People who smoke more than 20 cigarettes per day, have poorly controlled diabetes, or have a body mass index (a measure of body weight relative to height) above 30
  • People whose overall health risk for surgery has been rated at a certain level or higher by an anaesthetic assessment scale (confirm with trial site)
  • People who are currently pregnant
