Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 40 or older.
- People who are the main carer for a family member who has had a stroke, spending at least 70% of their time on caregiving tasks.
- People whose family member with stroke has left hospital and is currently living with them.
- People who have been caring for their family member for at least six months in total, including at least two months since the family member left hospital.
- People whose score on a distress screening tool (called the CSAQ, completed at a pre-group screening meeting) indicates a high level of distress — the trial site will assess this during screening.
- People who are able to use a computer and have access to the internet.
- People who are able to give their informed consent to take part.
Who may not be able to join:
- People under the age of 40.
- People who have a mental health condition or disability that may make group participation difficult, such as a personality disorder or learning disability (confirm with trial site).
- People who do not read, write, listen, or speak in English.
- People who are currently experiencing active thoughts of suicide or harming others.
- People who are currently receiving any form of psychological support, whether individual or group-based.
