Who might be able to join this trial:

• People diagnosed with a specific type of ovarian cancer called high-grade serous adenocarcinoma, at an advanced stage (FIGO stage IIIC or IVA)
• People aged between 18 and 70 years old
• People whose cancer was assessed using two specific scoring systems (Fagotti score and MD Anderson score), and the results showed the tumour was too widespread for complete surgical removal at the start, or people who were too unwell to have surgery straight away — meaning chemotherapy before surgery was chosen instead
• People with normal kidney function, as confirmed by a blood test
• People whose blood counts are within a healthy range, with no signs of bone marrow problems (including normal levels of haemoglobin, white blood cells, neutrophils, and platelets)
• People with normal liver function, confirmed by blood tests measuring bilirubin and liver enzymes
• People who are reasonably well and able to carry out daily activities, as measured by a standard health performance scale (WHO performance score of 0, 1, or 2)

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have another type of cancer, or who have already received chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or targeted therapy for this cancer at another hospital
• People diagnosed with a complete blockage of the bowel
• People who rely entirely on nutrition given through a drip (intravenous/parenteral nutrition)
• People with severe fluid build-up in the abdomen that is not responding to treatment
• People with a serious infection inside the abdomen (peritonitis)
• People with widespread scarring or adhesions inside the abdomen
• People who have already had surgery to remove tumour tissue and reconstruct part of the bowel at the same time
• People with a blood clot in the portal vein (the main vein leading to the liver)
• People with serious or uncontrolled heart or other medical conditions, such as irregular heart rhythm, chest pain, heart failure, reduced heart pumping function, or high blood pressure that is difficult to control
• People who have had an allergic reaction to chemotherapy drugs in the past
• People with serious heart or lung disease, liver or kidney disease, blood disorders, mental illness, or drug or substance misuse
• People whose life expectancy is estimated to be less than 12 weeks
• People who have taken part in, or are currently taking part in, another clinical trial within the past 3 months
• People whom the trial researchers consider unsuitable for other reasons (confirm with trial site)
