Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a condition called Giant Cell Arteritis (GCA) by a specialist doctor (rheumatologist), confirmed by a scan or tissue sample taken within the last 3 years.
- Your GCA is currently under control (in remission), meaning you have been following your treatment plan as planned for at least 8 weeks, have had no new or worsening GCA symptoms for at least 8 weeks, and a recent blood test (within the last 7 days) shows your inflammation levels are normal.
- If you are taking steroid tablets (prednisolone) as your only treatment, your current dose is 5 mg or more per day.
- Your doctor has a plan in place to gradually reduce your steroid or combination treatment over time.
- You are over 50 years old.
- You are able to speak, read, and write in Danish.
Who may not be able to join:
- You have received steroids by injection (into a joint, vein, or muscle) within the last 7 weeks.
- You are not able to complete online questionnaires (this would affect participation in one part of the study).
- You have a significant memory or thinking problem, such as dementia, that might make it difficult to give your consent or follow the study requirements.
