AI generated eligibility summary. Written by an AI model from the official source data and checked on a sample basis. It can contain mistakes, so confirm anything important against the original source. How we use AI

Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You must be 55 years of age or older
  • If joining the "Intermediate AMD Observation Arm," you must have an intermediate stage of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in one eye
  • If joining one of the "GA" study arms, you must have geographic atrophy (GA) — a form of AMD — that has not reached the very center of your vision, but does affect at least a small area near the center of the eye

Who may not be able to join:

  • People whose geographic atrophy has already affected the central point of their detailed vision (the fovea)
  • People whose area of geographic atrophy is larger than a certain size (17.5mm² — confirm exact measurement with trial site)
  • Women who are currently pregnant
  • Adults who are not able to give their own consent to participate
  • People who drink heavily, specifically those who have had 5 or more episodes of binge drinking in the past month
  • People whose retinal damage is caused by something other than AMD
  • People who have had anti-VEGF eye injections, or who have had an active, abnormal growth of blood vessels in the study eye within the last 12 months
  • People with certain other eye conditions in the study eye, including severe diabetic eye disease, blocked retinal blood vessels, a macular hole, extreme shortsightedness, eye inflammation (uveitis), or certain other conditions (confirm full list with trial site)
  • People who had eye surgery in the last 90 days

This study is not part of the standard drug-approval phase pathway (for example an observational, device, behavioural, or registry study), so a phase success rate does not apply.
