Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have blind spots in the centre of their vision in both eyes, confirmed by a specific vision field test
- People whose vision in at least one eye falls within a certain range of impairment (not fully sighted but not completely blind — roughly able to read large print but not standard print)
- People whose central vision loss has been stable for at least the past 6 months, with no significant changes in that time
- People aged 14 years or older who have been diagnosed with a disease affecting the macula (the central part of the eye)

- People who are able to give their agreement to take part and attend all required study visits
- People without significant hearing loss
- People who are fluent in English
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose eye condition is currently unstable, for example those currently receiving ongoing treatments or eye injections
- People whose side (peripheral) vision covers less than 40 degrees in total
- People who have conditions that affect eye movement control for reasons unrelated to their central vision loss
