Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You have been diagnosed with a stroke that happened between 1 and 6 months ago
  • Only one side of your body (one arm) has been affected by the stroke
  • You are between 40 and 60 years old
  • You are of any gender
  • Your overall health is stable enough to take part in physical therapy sessions
  • You are able to understand and agree to take part in the study (give informed consent)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You have severe muscle stiffness (tightness) in your arm that is rated above 3 on a standard medical scale (confirm with trial site)
  • You have had more than one stroke, or your stroke affected both sides of your body
  • Your shoulder joint has slipped or shifted out of its normal position (a condition called shoulder subluxation)
  • You have pain in your shoulder or arm that stops you from moving it freely
  • You have difficulties with thinking, understanding, or perception that would make it hard to follow instructions during the study
  • You have another condition affecting your nervous system that also impacts your arm, such as Parkinson's disease or multiple sclerosis
  • You have a bone, joint, or muscle condition in your arm that affects how well it works
