Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 20 and 70 years old
- People who have had their first-ever stroke affecting one side of the brain, which caused weakness on one side of the body, and this stroke occurred at least 6 months before the study testing
- People whose upper arm and hand movement ability falls within a specific range on a standard stroke assessment scale (a score of 31–55 on the Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity Section)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a serious ongoing medical illness
- People who experience pain in their hand or arm when moving
- People who have no voluntary control over their fingers or thumb
- People who are unable to give informed consent to participate in the study
- People who have bone or joint injuries (such as a fracture) or serious medical complications (such as severe heart or blood vessel disease)
