Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are a male between the ages of 25–30 or 60–65 years old
- You have been diagnosed by a doctor with a specific stage of male-pattern hair loss (called Hamilton-Norwood Stage III), OR you have a healthy scalp with no signs of hair loss (for the healthy comparison group)
- You have not used any hair loss treatments (such as minoxidil or finasteride), hormonal medications, or had any chemical scalp treatments like perms or hair dye in the past 6 months
- You are willing to voluntarily sign a written consent form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You have any other type of hair loss condition, or an active scalp disease such as psoriasis, dermatitis, or a scalp infection
- You have a history of raised/overgrown scar tissue (keloids) or problems with blood clotting
- You have a serious ongoing health condition, such as severe heart or brain disease, an immune system disorder, or cancer
- You have a known allergy to local anaesthetics (numbing medications used on the skin)
- You have taken part in another clinical trial within the last 3 months
- The trial investigators decide, for any other reason, that it would not be suitable for you to participate (confirm with trial site)
