Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 50 and 80 years old who have been diagnosed with moderate or severe COPD (a long-term lung condition that makes breathing difficult)
- People who have not had a sudden worsening of their COPD symptoms in the last 4 weeks
- People who are physically able to take part in exercise
- People who have read, understood, and signed a consent form agreeing to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have nervous system, bone and joint, or heart and blood vessel conditions that would make exercising unsafe or very difficult — this includes uncontrolled high blood pressure, a recent heart attack, unstable chest pain, severe joint disease, the effects of a stroke, or Parkinson's disease
- People whose doctor has determined that exercise is not safe for them for medical reasons
- People who have had surgery in the past 3 months
- People who are already taking part in another exercise program at the same time
- People who have a diagnosed condition affecting memory, thinking, or understanding
