Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 65 years old
- You are any gender (both males and females can apply)
- You have been diagnosed with schizophrenia based on standard diagnostic guidelines, with a symptom score that is not considered very high (confirm with trial site)
- Your psychiatric medication (type and dose) has stayed the same for at least one month
Who may not be able to join:
- You have had a head injury where you were unconscious for more than 10 minutes, or you have had brain surgery
- You have a personal history of epilepsy (seizures)
- A close family member has a history of epilepsy
- You have had a significant problem with heavy alcohol use or illegal drug use in the recent past (within the last 6 months for dependence, or the last month for misuse)
- You have a medical condition that could affect how your brain works, such as a stroke, brain infection, brain tumor, or other major neurological disease
- You have a pacemaker, implanted pump, metal implants in or near your head, or unstable heart disease (excluding metal dental work)
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You currently have thoughts of suicide or self-harm
- You are taking medications known to lower the threshold for seizures or increase the risk of suicidal behavior
- You have a serious, uncontrolled illness such as heart failure, liver failure, kidney failure, vitamin B12 deficiency, or an underactive thyroid
- You have uncontrolled diabetic eye disease with active bleeding at the back of the eye
- You are currently taking part in another clinical study or trial
- You have conditions that make it unsafe to use the medical devices in this study, such as pulsed ultrasound, EEG, or CT scanning (confirm with trial site)
- Your doctor decides there is any other reason you would not be suitable for this trial
