If you have Crohn's disease (Cases):

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have a confirmed diagnosis of Crohn's disease
  • You are able to give your consent to take part in the trial

If you are joining as a comparison participant (Controls):

  • You are between 18 and 80 years old
  • You have not had a major surgery to remove part of your large bowel
  • You are able to give your consent to take part in the trial

If you have Crohn's disease (Cases):

  • You have taken antibiotics or probiotics in the last 4 weeks
  • You have a history of cancer in your digestive system
  • You have a stoma (an opening on your abdomen connected to your digestive system)
  • You are currently pregnant
  • You have a serious, life-limiting illness such as advanced cancer, severe kidney failure, or severe liver failure

If you are joining as a comparison participant (Controls):

  • You are currently pregnant
  • You have a serious, life-limiting illness such as advanced cancer, severe kidney failure, or severe liver failure
  • You are unable to give your consent to take part in the trial
