Who might be able to join this trial:

• Adults between 18 and 80 years old who have had a stroke (either a blockage-type or bleeding-type stroke) at least 12 months before joining the study.

• People with severe difficulty planning and carrying out purposeful movements (a condition called apraxia), as measured by a standard test (confirm with trial site).
• People with speech or language difficulties, or behavioural conditions, that would make it hard to follow the study procedures or to give informed consent.
• People with a serious medical condition that is not well controlled, including severe heart or lung disease.
• People who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant during the study period.
• People who have had botulinum toxin (such as Botox) injected into the affected arm within the 3 months before the study begins.
• People with severe muscle stiffness (spasticity) in the affected arm, as measured by a standard scale (confirm with trial site).
• People for whom non-invasive brain stimulation is not safe, including those who:
  • Have had a seizure in the last 12 months while taking anti-seizure medication.
  • Have any metal implants in the head (not including the mouth), such as brain stimulators, clips, coils, shunts, stents, skull plates, or cochlear implants.
  • Have permanent eyeliner or tattoos on the head.
  • Have implanted electronic devices such as pacemakers, defibrillators, medication pumps, or nerve stimulators.
  • Have previously had a serious adverse reaction during a brain stimulation (TMS) session.
