Who might be able to join this trial:

• People between the ages of 50 and 65, either male or female
• People who have been officially diagnosed with a stroke
• People who have sensory problems in their legs or feet as a result of their stroke
• People whose walking difficulties are caused only by stroke, and not by any other health condition
• People who scored below 45 on a balance assessment called the Berg Balance Scale (confirm with trial site)
• People who have no wounds, infections, or skin conditions on their feet, and who are not taking certain heart or blood pressure medications including nitroglycerin, dopamine, or dobutamine
• People with no history of mental illness, no osteoporosis (weak or brittle bones), and no other neurological (nervous system) conditions

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have problems with their vestibular system, which is the part of the inner ear that helps control balance
• People with severe difficulties in thinking, memory, or communication (including aphasia, which is difficulty speaking or understanding language)
• People with serious conditions affecting the body's major organ systems
• People with conditions affecting the cerebellum, which is the part of the brain that coordinates movement and balance
• People who develop a sudden or serious health crisis during the course of the trial
