- People who are already scheduled to have a planned (non-emergency) first-time total hip replacement surgery

- People who have used probiotic, prebiotic, or synbiotic supplements (such as certain gut health products) within the two months before the study start date

- People with serious health conditions that would make a fasting program unsafe, such as a very high surgical risk rating, advanced kidney or liver problems, or an eating disorder (confirm with trial site)
- People with a body weight that falls into the underweight range, defined as a BMI below 18.5
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical trial involving a drug or medical device
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
