Who might be able to join this trial:
- A tissue biopsy has confirmed a diagnosis of prostate cancer of a specific type called adenocarcinoma.
- The prostate cancer has been classified as "High-Risk" or "Very High-Risk" based on established medical guidelines — for example, the cancer has spread beyond the prostate, a PSA blood test result is above 20 ng/mL, or the cancer's aggressiveness score (called a Gleason Score) is between 8 and 10.
- Urinary function before treatment is within an acceptable range, based on a standard symptom questionnaire score of 20 or below.
- A detailed prostate MRI scan (called a multiparametric MRI) has been completed.
- A CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis has been completed.
- A bone scan has been completed.
- Optionally, a specialised nuclear medicine scan called a PSMA-PET/CT may be completed to check whether the cancer has spread and to assist with treatment planning (confirm with trial site).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously had radiation therapy to the pelvic area.
- People who have a history of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (a long-term condition affecting the digestive tract, such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis) or who currently have severe inflammation of the rectum.
- People whose cancer has already spread to other parts of the body (called distant metastases).
