Who might be able to join this trial:

  • Adults aged 18 or older
  • People who have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease based on established European guidelines, using a combination of clinical assessments, lab tests, imaging, camera examinations of the gut, and tissue samples
  • People who have had surgery to remove a section of their intestine related to Crohn's disease, such as removal of part of the small bowel or large bowel
  • People who started a preventive biologic medication (a type of specialised drug used to control inflammation) within 6 weeks after their surgery
  • People who continued taking that preventive biologic medication for at least 3 to 6 months after surgery
  • People who had at least one camera examination of the bowel (a scope procedure) between 6 and 12 months after surgery to check for signs of disease returning, or who have available records from clinical reviews, imaging, ultrasound, or lab tests that can be used to assess whether the disease has come back

Who may not be able to join:

  • People diagnosed with other bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis, intestinal tuberculosis, Behçet's disease affecting the intestine, or bowel cancer
  • People whose bowel surgery was mainly carried out for reasons unrelated to Crohn's disease, such as bowel cancer
  • People who did not have a bowel scope examination within 6 to 12 months after surgery, or whose scope examination was not of sufficient quality to be assessed, and who also do not have enough clinical, imaging, ultrasound, or lab records available to evaluate whether the disease has returned
  • People who were unable to take their preventive medication consistently after surgery due to serious other health conditions, severe infections, or other reasons that would make it difficult to assess how well the treatment worked
  • People whom the trial investigators consider unsuitable for inclusion for other reasons (confirm with trial site)
