Who might be able to join this trial:
Group A – Healthy Adults:
- People between 20 and 80 years of age
- People who have no knee discomfort, such as knee pain or muscle weakness
Group B – People with Knee Osteoarthritis:
- People between 50 and 80 years of age
- People who have been diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, rated as a mild to moderate level of severity on a standard medical scale (Kellgren-Lawrence grade 1 to 3)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had surgery on a knee or hip in the past
- People with a form of arthritis that affects the whole body (such as rheumatoid arthritis)
- People with a neurological (nervous system) disease
- People with a current or past diagnosis of cancer
- People with an untreated bone infection, or whose bones are still developing (confirm with trial site)
- People who are pregnant
- People with inflammatory ulcers
- People with deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot in a deep vein)
- People with wounds that are excessively wet or moist
- People with hemophilia (a condition where blood does not clot properly)
- People with an active infection in the area being treated or assessed
- People who have recently had a heart attack
- People with unstable angina (unpredictable chest pain related to the heart)
- People with severe narrowing of the aortic heart valve
- People with heart failure that is not well controlled
- People with an acute (sudden) blood clot in the lungs
- People with sudden inflammation of the heart muscle or the sac surrounding the heart
- People with an acute tear in the wall of the main artery from the heart
