Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed (confirmed by laboratory tissue analysis) with bile duct or gallbladder cancer that cannot be surgically removed or has spread, and is a specific type called adenocarcinoma or adenosquamous carcinoma
• People who have not previously received treatment for advanced or spreading bile duct or gallbladder cancer (note: prior chemotherapy given before or after surgery may still be acceptable if it was completed more than 6 months ago)

• People who are in relatively good general health, rated 0 or 1 on a standard medical fitness scale (meaning fully active or able to carry out light activities) — people with a history of hepatitis B or hepatitis C may still be considered if other study criteria are met

Who may not be able to join:

• People with a significant, ongoing problem with calcium or phosphorus levels in the body that is not caused by their cancer
• People with a significant eye (retina) condition identified during an eye examination
• People who have previously received a specific type of targeted therapy directed at a protein called FGFR, including a drug called futibatinib
• People who have previously received certain immunotherapy treatments, including drugs that target PD-L1, PD-1, CTLA-4, TIGIT, or other similar immune checkpoint therapies, whether given alone or in combination with other treatments
• People who have active cancer that has spread to the brain or the lining of the brain or spinal cord
