Who might be able to join this trial:
- People whose HIV status has been confirmed through approved medical testing (such as a Western blot test or a blood test showing the virus is present in the bloodstream).
- People aged 18 years or older.
- People who are able to understand and sign a written consent form.
- People whose blood test results meet certain minimum levels, including white blood cell counts, clotting times, red blood cell and platelet counts, blood pressure at or below 180/100, and a pulse rate between 50 and 100 beats per minute (confirm with trial site).

Who may not be able to join:
- Women who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who are currently misusing alcohol, narcotics, cocaine, or other drugs.
- People living with HIV who have developed HIV-related memory or thinking problems (AIDS dementia), or who have a cancer related to AIDS, except for a very mild form of a skin condition called Kaposi's sarcoma.
- People who have taken aspirin or anti-inflammatory medications (such as ibuprofen) within 7 days before the procedure — paracetamol (Tylenol/acetaminophen) is permitted at any time.
- People whose overall medical condition leads the lead doctor to consider the lymph node biopsy procedure inadvisable (confirm with trial site).
- People for whom sedation is planned during the procedure, or people who have used narcotics (other than those prescribed by a doctor) or cocaine within one week before the biopsy date.
