Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with one of the following inherited bone marrow failure conditions: Fanconi anemia, Diamond Blackfan anemia, Dyskeratosis congenita, Shwachman Diamond Syndrome, Amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia, Thrombocytopenia absent radii, Severe Congenital Neutropenia, Pearson Syndrome, or a similar bone marrow failure condition
- You are a family member (parent, sibling, child, or grandparent) of someone diagnosed with one of these conditions
- You are a member of the general public who has developed certain cancers (head and neck, digestive system, or genital/anal area) without the usual risk factors like smoking, drinking, or HPV infection, and may be suspected of having an undiagnosed bone marrow failure condition
- People of any age (from newborns to elderly) and any racial or ethnic background are welcome to apply
Who may not be able to join:
- Your blood disorder appears to have been caused by medications, chemicals, toxins, or viruses rather than being an inherited (genetic) condition
- Your low blood cell counts have a known non-genetic cause, such as an immune reaction, a vitamin deficiency, or a specific temporary condition
- Your physical symptoms are better explained by a different condition that is not related to inherited bone marrow failure syndromes
- You are a family member applying to join, but no one in your family with the condition meets the study's eligibility requirements
- You or your legal representative are unable or unwilling to sign the informed consent form
- You are unwilling to allow the study team to access your medical records and tissue samples
