Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older and are scheduled to have surgery to remove part or all of your pancreas, or a nearby structure called the duodenum, for a suspected pancreatic condition
- Your condition is one of the following: a type of pancreatic cancer (ductal adenocarcinoma), a non-cancerous or pre-cancerous cyst (IPMN), a pancreatic hormone-producing tumor (neuroendocrine tumor) without signs of spread, or another non-cancerous pancreatic disease
- For one specific part of the study, patients who have received chemotherapy before surgery ("neoadjuvant chemotherapy") may be eligible, as well as patients who have not received chemotherapy before surgery
Who may not be able to join:
- Your cancer or disease has spread to other parts of the body, or cannot be removed with surgery
- For most parts of the study, you received chemotherapy or radiation treatment for your current condition within the last 6 months
- For one specific part of the study, you received radiation treatment for your current condition within the last 6 months
- Your blood takes too long to clot, based on a specific blood test result (INR greater than 2)
- You have a known condition that affects your blood's ability to clot properly, either clotting too little or too much
- You need, or are expected to need, strong blood-thinning medication during your hospital stay for surgery
- You have taken blood-thinning medication (other than aspirin) in the week before your surgery
- Your imaging scans suggest your cyst (IPMN) or hormone-producing tumor may have already spread into surrounding tissue
- The surgeon believes that collecting blood samples during your procedure could cause you harm (confirm with trial site)
