Who might be able to join this trial:
- People whose main drug problem is methamphetamine dependence or misuse, with methamphetamine being their primary substance of concern
- People who currently have a diagnosis of major depression (whether caused by methamphetamine use or separate from it)
- People who currently have a diagnosis of an anxiety disorder (whether caused by methamphetamine use or separate from it)
- People whose current depression rating score is 16 or higher on a standard clinical scale called the Hamilton Depression Rating Scale
- People whose current anxiety rating score is 18 or higher on a standard clinical scale called the Hamilton Anxiety Scale
- People who are taking medication for depression or anxiety, where that medication dose has remained unchanged for at least 4 weeks before the trial treatment begins
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are not able to give informed consent to participate in the trial
- People who are considered by a clinician to be at significant risk of harming themselves or others
- People whose main substance problem involves a drug other than methamphetamine
- Females who test positive for pregnancy
- People with a history of kidney disease
- People with a significant medical or neurological condition identified through their health history, a physical examination, or lab tests
- People who have previously had an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction to creatine
