Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have signed a consent form agreeing to take part in the study
- You are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You are healthy enough to safely receive anesthesia (sedation for surgery)
- You are scheduled to have one of two specific pancreatic surgeries: a Whipple procedure or a distal pancreatectomy
- Your cancer has not spread to other parts of the body (no metastatic disease)

Who may not be able to join:
- You are not considered a suitable candidate for surgery
- You have had another serious (invasive) cancer in the past 5 years, not including certain common skin cancers (basal cell or squamous cell)
- You are a candidate for a non-surgical procedure called IRE (irreversible electroporation)
- Your pancreatic cancer has come back after previous treatment, or you have already had surgery to remove it before
- You have a documented history of alcoholism or drug abuse
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial
