- Men and women aged 18 or older who had major bowel or colon surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences during either January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014, or June 1, 2015 to November 30, 2016.
- People who, at the time of their surgery, were rated as relatively healthy to moderately unwell under a standard pre-surgery health classification system (known as ASA physical status class 1, 2, or 3) (confirm with trial site).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who were rated as having severe or life-threatening health conditions at the time of surgery under the same classification system (ASA physical status class higher than 3) (confirm with trial site).
- People who were under 18 years of age at the time of surgery.
