Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have a disease or condition that can be treated with a stem cell transplant, such as certain immune system disorders (for example, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency or Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome), bone marrow failure conditions, metabolic diseases (such as Hurler's Syndrome), or severe aplastic anemia

- Your lungs are functioning at least 50% of the expected level for a healthy person
- Your kidneys are working adequately (confirm specific values with trial site)
- Your liver is functioning within acceptable limits, with no serious liver problems (some exceptions may apply — confirm with trial site)
- You are well enough to carry out most daily activities (a score of 70% or above on a standard health performance scale)
- You have given your informed consent before starting any treatment related to the transplant
- A suitable cord blood stem cell donation has been confirmed as available before starting treatment
Who may not be able to join:
- A well-matched stem cell donor (related or unrelated) is already available and can donate within a timeframe that suits your medical needs
- You have had a stem cell transplant using your own cells within the last 6 months
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
- You currently have an infection that is not under control
- You are HIV-positive or have tested positive for HIV
