Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had Type 1 diabetes for at least 1 year
- People aged 18 to 40 years
- People who have reached at least Tanner stage IV of physical development (a measure of physical maturity — confirm with trial site if unsure)
- People with a body mass index (BMI) between 18.5 and 35
- People whose blood sugar has been reasonably stable, shown by an HbA1c (a 3-month average blood sugar test) result between 6.5% and 9%

- People who currently use an insulin pump to manage their diabetes
- People who have attended at least one diabetes care appointment in the past 12 months, including virtual visits
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had a diabetic ketoacidosis episode, or a severe low blood sugar event involving a seizure or loss of consciousness, in the past 6 months
- People with dietary restrictions or food intolerances that would conflict with the trial's planned food deliveries, such as coeliac disease, gastroparesis, or certain food allergies
- People who are currently following a weight-loss or other restrictive diet
- People who do vigorous exercise for more than 2 hours on more than 3 days per week
- People who have a history of an eating disorder, or who are assessed as being at risk of one (as measured by a specific screening tool called the Eating Disorders Diagnostic Scale)
- People with a serious medical condition, or who take medications other than insulin or metformin, that could affect blood sugar or metabolism
- People with significant mental health conditions
- People who smoke, use recreational drugs, or drink alcohol excessively
- People who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- People who have anaemia
- For the portion of the trial involving MRI scans, additional criteria apply, including: standard reasons that make MRI unsafe (such as certain metal implants — confirm with trial site), irregular menstrual cycles, or use of certain psychiatric medications (unless those medications can safely be paused for a few days to allow the MRI to take place)
