Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are between 18 and 65 years old
  • You are either a healthy volunteer, have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), meet the criteria for fibromyalgia, or meet the criteria for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

Who may not be able to join:

  • You cannot have an MRI scan for any reason (for example, if you have certain metal implants or a pacemaker)
  • You are currently pregnant
  • You are currently breastfeeding
  • Your medical condition is too severe to allow you to take part in the imaging (scanning) part of the study
  • You have a long-term infectious disease such as HIV or hepatitis C
  • You have had a viral or bacterial illness that needed medical treatment or antibiotics in the past month
  • You have been diagnosed with any type of cancer, including leukemia
  • You have a blood disorder or a problem with blood clotting
  • You have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease (unless your autoimmune condition is MS)
  • A pregnancy test taken on the day of the procedure, or within 48 hours before a specific imaging drug is given, comes back positive
  • You are currently taking part in another clinical trial that involves experimental treatments

Neuroinflammation will be measured in healthy volunteers and compared to neuroinflammation in individuals with pain and fatigue, as measured with [F-18]DPA-714-PET/MRI.
