Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a chronic acquired nerve condition that affects the protective covering of the nerves (called demyelinating neuropathy)
- People aged 18 or older
- People who are able to walk at least 20 metres indoors on their own, without another person's help (walking aids such as canes or walkers are allowed)
- People who experience symptoms such as discomfort or difficulty walking due to problems with sensation or feeling in their body
- People whose condition has been medically stable for at least 2 months, whether or not they are currently receiving treatment
- People who have given their informed consent to take part
Who may not be able to join:
- People who cannot walk 20 metres indoors, even with a walking aid, without another person physically helping them
- People who are currently admitted to a hospital
- People who are already taking part in another clinical intervention study
- People who are currently receiving balance rehabilitation that would continue at a different centre or practice during this trial program
- People who have started or stopped an active treatment for their nerve condition within the last 2 months
- People who have surgery planned during their time in the trial that would prevent them from completing the rehabilitation program or assessments
- People who have had recent surgery, particularly a lower limb prosthesis fitted within the last year, or who have equipment that makes certain exercises (such as standing or kneeling positions) unsafe
- People who have open skin wounds on their feet that would make rehabilitation unsafe
- People whose balance problems are caused by an inner ear condition or a brain or central nervous system disorder
- People with a visual disability
- People with a hearing impairment that would prevent them from hearing and understanding instructions during the program or assessments
- People who are unable to speak or understand French
- People who have difficulty with thinking, communication, or understanding that would prevent them from following the trial procedures
- People who live outside the Paris region (Île-de-France)
- People who are known to be pregnant
- People who are not covered by the French social security system, or who are under legal guardianship, curatorship, are incarcerated, or have had their rights removed
