Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 25 years old
- You have had diabetes treated with insulin for more than 12 months, either using daily injections or an insulin pump
- At least one of the following applies to you: your long-term blood sugar level (HbA1c) is above a certain high threshold, OR you have been admitted to hospital with diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) at least once in the last 12 months, OR you have been admitted to hospital with uncontrolled blood sugar levels at least once in the last 12 months (confirm with trial site if unsure which applies to you)
- You have not previously used a real-time continuous glucose monitor (a sensor that constantly tracks your blood sugar levels), except possibly for short-term testing or check-up purposes
- Having previously used a flash glucose monitor (a sensor you scan to check your blood sugar) is allowed
Who may not be able to join:
- You have significant kidney disease where your kidneys are working at a reduced level (confirm with trial site)
- You are currently pregnant or are planning to become pregnant
- You are currently breastfeeding
- You currently have cancer or are being investigated for a possible cancer diagnosis
- You have a serious visual impairment that significantly affects your sight
- You have difficulty with hand or finger movement that limits what you can do with your hands
- There are other reasons that the lead researcher believes would prevent you from taking part (confirm with trial site)
