Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are aged between 50 and 75 years old.
- People who have had a CT scan, MRI, or endoscopic ultrasound (a camera procedure to look inside the body) within the past 6 months that found one or more fluid-filled sacs (cysts) on the pancreas, each measuring at least 1 cm.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who currently have, or have had in the past, a pancreatic condition involving inflammation (either sudden or long-term pancreatitis).
- People who are known to be pregnant.
- People who have previously been diagnosed with any form of pancreatic cancer.
- People who have previously had surgery to remove part of the pancreas.
- People whose pancreatic cysts are of a type considered to carry no risk of becoming cancerous, such as a pseudocyst or a classic serous cystic lesion.
- People who have a parent, full sibling, or child (biological) who has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
- People whose cysts show features that would normally lead doctors to consider surgery straight away, such as growths within the cyst wall, a solid area inside the cyst, a widened pancreatic duct (10mm or more), or yellowing of the skin caused by the cyst blocking bile flow (confirm with trial site).
- People who have another serious health condition that would make the endoscopic ultrasound procedure or pancreatic surgery unsafe for them.
- People who have already been taking part in an organised, regular monitoring programme specifically watching their pancreatic cyst for more than 1 year.
