Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are scheduled to have a radiofrequency procedure (a type of heart rhythm treatment) for atrial fibrillation (AF) within the next 6 months.
  • You are 18 years of age or older.
  • You are covered by a social security or health insurance scheme.
  • You have been fully informed about the study and have agreed to take part in writing.

Who may not be able to join:

  • You do not wish to take part in the study.
  • You have already had an AF ablation procedure in the past.
  • Your planned AF procedure uses a freezing method (called cryoablation) rather than radiofrequency.
  • Your pre-study scan (CT or MRI) results could not be used or assessed properly.
  • You have an implanted heart device, such as a pacemaker or defibrillator.
  • You experience claustrophobia (fear of enclosed spaces, such as an MRI scanner).
  • You have a known allergy to the contrast dyes used in CT or MRI scans.
  • You have serious kidney problems where your kidneys are not filtering well enough (confirm with trial site).
  • It would not be possible for you to attend follow-up appointments after the study.
  • You are currently pregnant.
  • You are not able to sign a consent form yourself.
  • You are a minor or an adult who is under legal guardianship or supervision.
  • You are currently taking part in another research study that prevents you from joining this one.
