Who might be able to join this trial:

• You have been diagnosed (confirmed by a lab test) with a specific type of cancer in or near the digestive system, such as pancreatic cancer, stomach/esophagus cancer, bile duct cancer, gallbladder cancer, or a related type, that has spread locally or to other parts of the body
• If you previously had yellowing of the skin or eyes caused by your tumor blocking a bile duct, that condition must now be mostly resolved and you must have a metal stent (a small tube) in place to keep the duct open
• You are 18 years of age or older
• You are reasonably active and able to care for yourself day-to-day (confirm with trial site)
• Your doctor expects you to live for more than 3 months
• Your blood counts, liver function, and kidney function are within acceptable ranges as measured by blood tests (confirm specific values with trial site)
• Your cancer can be measured on scans, or may not need to be measurable at all
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, or a sexually active man, you must be willing to use effective birth control during treatment and for 3 months afterward
• If you are a woman who could become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test before starting the trial
• If you are taking certain medications that interact with a drug called irinotecan, you should be willing to switch to alternatives where possible (confirm with trial site)

Who may not be able to join:

• You have had radiation therapy for any cancer in the past
• You have already had chemotherapy specifically for cancer that has spread to other parts of the body (though you may still be eligible if your cancer came back within 6 months of surgery-related chemotherapy — confirm with trial site)
• You have an inflammatory bowel condition such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
• You are currently experiencing diarrhea (note: pancreatic cancer patients with digestion problems must be taking enzyme replacement therapy to be considered)

• Cancer has spread to your brain
• You have serious ongoing medical or mental health conditions that your doctor feels would make treatment too risky
