Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with a specific type of nerve pain in one side of the lower back, caused by a slipped disc or narrowing of the spine at one level.

- People who have previously had surgery on the same part of the lower back involved in their current condition.
- People who have circumstances that would prevent them from safely receiving the injection, such as being on blood-thinning medications that cannot be temporarily stopped, or having an allergy to steroids or local anaesthetic.
- People who are pregnant.
- People who have a significant language barrier that would affect participation.
